The Maiden Goddess Persephone crosses the threshold to the Underworld at the Autumn Equinox, a metaphor for entering into the dark half of the Wheel of the Year. Her mother Demeter must comes to terms with this truth. As we cross this threshold, how will we embrace the darkness to ease our way? What light will we bring with us as we go? What magick will sustain as along the journey?

The year progresses. With autumn on the horizon, the time of harvest approaches. There is work to be done before the season of fallow to come. This is the time to ask: how did the garden fare? What are we reaping? How can we make good use of this time and preserve what will be needed? The old saying 'make hay while the sun shines' is a wise one, both practical and metaphoric. In our hearts and in our souls, what must we do to ensure a future we want to meet in time?

The Nature of Resurrection!
Only three times in the close to 20 years of Gaia's Temple worship has our monthly service fallen on Easter.
Keeping with the theme of the season and the resurrection of life to the surface of Mother Earth, I'll be relaying the tale of the ancient Goddess Inanna, the Queen of Heaven and Earth. There is much to learn from Her rich story of descent and ascent. What must we do to ensure we return and recover from dark times?
