Persephone makes a choice that causes great change within her realm of influence. Demeter would rather her daughter chooses otherwise. All of us feel the impact of choices we haven't or wouldn't make. How adept are we at adapting? As we turn to face the dark half of the Wheel of the Year,

Forgiveness

For some of us, holding a grudge is elevated to a high art. We reconcile being slighted by hardening our hearts, believing this will save us from future emotional pain. We opt for perceived safety, rather than work to repair and recover. But what is the cost of our hardened hearts? How do we drop the heavy load of bitterness we carry? How does forgiveness make us even stronger than shutting down and checking out?

Athena's Wisdom

The Greek Goddess Athena teaches us to keep a cool head as we act from our passionate hearts. In troubled times like these, when tempers are short and tolerance is at an all time low, keeping a cool head can be our greatest challenge.  How do we utilize our desire for justice without becoming The Furies bent on revenge? How do we become like the Graces bringing the beauty to soften the way forward?

The World Begins to Wake!

Underneath the recently fallen snow, the Earth is quickening, stirring, awakening. The life force energy is rising as gestation gives way to cracking seed casings and emerging shoots. In alignment with nature, we ask ourselves: what is awakening in us as we view our world in present time? As we conjure the Spring, what will we do with what is rising from the soil, into our consciousness, and into the soul of our world?
